Hot Honey Roasted Cauliflower

This hot honey cauliflower recipe is the perfect side dish. Toss it on a sheet pan and it’s ready in just a few minutes. Bonus – it’s awesome for adding to meal prep!
I’m here to tell you that the very best way to eat cauliflower is in its roasted form. And I’m also here to tell you that this particular roasted cauliflower recipe is the best one you’ll find. I have a feeling this will be just one of of a lengthy series of roasted cauliflower variations, but it’s gonna stay in the number one spot.
How to make cauliflower taste good:
- Prep the cauliflower. Slice the cauliflower nice and thin, about 1/3″ per slice. You’ll have some leftovers, but that’s ok. You can always use it for something else!
- Marinade. Add your marinade ingredients to a bowl and whisk together. Pour it over the cauliflower and toss until it’s allllll nice and coated.
- Roast to perfection. Spread it all out on a sheet pan and let it crisp up to caramelized perfection. Your work here is done.
Yes, it’s seriously that simple. The hardest part is not eating it all of the sheet pan before you serve it up.
Did you guys know we’re in the midst of a sriracha shortage? As if the world wasn’t a enough of a hot mess already, sriracha is gone from the shelves. Yes, I’ve tried the other brands. They’re just not the same. If you know, you know.
That leads me to my next point – without sriracha, I had to get creative. Find alternatives to get my sweet and spicy fix. Enter hot honey roasted cauliflower. It’s spicy, it’s crispy, it’s a little addicting. It’s everything you need in a roasted veggie side dish.
Roasted Cauliflower FAQs
- Can I use this marinade on other things? YES! And I recommend it. It’s great on broccoli. carrots, zucchini, chicken, or shrimp.
- Does this reheat well? Yes, again! I like to reheat it in an oven safe dish to keep is crispy.
- What do I do with the leftover cauliflower after I cut the mini steaks? You can always roast them with the rest of the cauliflower, they just don’t crispy up quite as nicely. I’ll also be linking to some other cauliflower recipes here in the future!
This recipe is an easy way to mix up your side dish game. If you see cauliflower on sale. If you have cauliflower that’s on the verge of going bad. Or if you have a mixture of random vegetables in the fridge and you need a solution right now – this is the kind of recipe that saves the day at dinnertime.
I cooked this recipe on a heavy duty baking sheet lined with parchment – these are my absolute favorite pans for roasted veggies. Parchment is also key – I’ve tried using aluminum foil before and it just doesn’t seem to cook as well.

Hot Honey Roasted Cauliflower
Ingredients
- 4 cups cauliflower florets
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 Tablespoons sriracha
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400º. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prep cauliflower. Wash the head of cauliflower and remove the bottom leaves and stalk. Separate florets and slice them into small
- Add cauliflower to a large bowl or a Ziplock bag. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, sriracha, olive oil, tamari, and pepper. Pour over the cauliflower and toss until it's well-coated.
- Pour the cauliflower onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the oven. Be sure to space the cauliflower out so that it doesn't "steam." We want it to crisp up and caramelize. If you need to, divide it between 2 baking sheets.
- Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway. All ovens are different, so keep an eye on it to prevent burning. Once the edges brown up and look crispy, it's done!

When I cook cauliflower in the oven I usually just season everything before putting it in the oven. I love how you suggest marinating the cauliflower before cooking it. That would definitely make the cauliflower more flavorful. I need to try that next time I cook cauliflower.
