Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup green onion finely chopped (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and de-veined
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch knob of ginger freshly grated
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • Optional for garnish: lime sesame seeds, fresh green onion

Instructions

  • Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, honey, and red pepper flakes. Stir these together to form a flavorful marinade that will infuse the shrimp with spicy, tangy, and sweet notes.
  • Marinate the Shrimp: Toss the shrimp in the marinade and let them sit for at least 10 minutes. This short marination time is enough to let the flavors meld without overpowering the delicate shrimp.
  • Cook The Shrimp: Heat olive oil to medium-high in a large skillet. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp, discarding any excess marinade. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook to keep them juicy and tender.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with fresh green olives, sesame seeds, or lime juice. Enjoy them a la carte or with rice!
